SPUTNIK is a design collective that operates at the crossing point of architectural research and practice. The office is involved in a broad range of projects, from theoretical research to building design and realization, and is active on various scales, from master plan tot architectural detail. SPUTNIK published the book SNOOZE in June 2003.
SPUTNIK works on its own projects, in national and international collaborations and is called on as external consultants for clients including The Government Building Agency of the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment (VROM), various real estate development corporations and the Dutch Railways, ProRail/NS.
The three partners in SPUTNIK periodically teach at the architectural faculty of the Delft University of Technology, the Architecture Academies of Amsterdam and Rotterdam and lecture at architecture schools around the world.
